Coming soon… The Haze

On October 9, 2012, in Television & Video Production, by Television Faculty

Coming soon from Vérité Productions:

THE HAZE is a short film based on unexpected consequences. In short, the abduction of a man brings about an unexpected response, and highlights the importance of perception. The Haze is about Sam, a first year college student, who is kidnapped by three guys as an initiation or “hazing” for a new frat. What starts off as innocent fun takes a drastic turn.

Directed by Justine Stevens

Produced by Gillian Landrigan

Big Brother Canada

On September 24, 2012, in Television & Video Production, by Television Faculty

Special thanks to our first and second year Television students who volunteered to help out the Insight Productions crew with their Vancouver casting session for Big Brother Canada!

Hi all,

On behalf of Gord, Craig, and myself, I would like to say an ENORMOUS thanks to everyone who came out yesterday! I know how grueling your program is and we really appreciate that you chose to spend the free moments of your (early!) Sunday with us. I hope you know how incredibly vital you were to the process yesterday.

We would not have had the flawlessly amazing day that we did if it weren’t for each and every one of you being on the ball and tackling any task we threw at you. I can’t even count the number of times our producers came up to us to compliment your energy, enthusiasm, and eagerness to help! You all made me totally proud to be a BCIT alum!

Thank you again from our entire team at Big Brother Canada and don’t forget to tune into the show on Slice in the spring! You should be super proud of your contribution in making what is sure to be an incredible cast and an even more amazing show!

Best,

Amanda

First International Feature Film

On August 10, 2012, in Television & Video Production, by Television Faculty

Television & Video Production alumni Ben Hoskyn begins work on his first international feature film:

“As a wealthy businessman nears the end of his life, his three children are faced with the same choice he made – and now regrets. Living in Toronto, Hong Kong, and Vancouver, they each have to decide between devoting their lives to the multinational family business, or breaking away from it in order to live a life their father never could.”

Written and Allan Mackey and directed by Ben Hoskyn, “8 Minutes Ahead” explores themes of greed, materialism, loyalty, ambition, and the moments when all of those elements collide.

Principal photography begins November 2012, on location in Hong Kong, China.

Check out the Ottawa newspaper write-up for more details, and follow his production online, and through the Indiegogo campaign page.
